EM2 – Infinite range still sought after
Why can the weapon keep up? The EM2 dominated the weapon selection in Warzone before the transition to the Vanguard content and impresses with a simple concept: solid performance in all areas.
The EM2 offers decent damage, is well controllable with some practice, has a consistent time-to-kill at chest shots at range, and, as a “Cold War” weapon, is also pleasantly mobile.
Currently, it is even the weapon with which players achieve the best kill/death ratio (via wzranked.com, as of 03.02.22).

Grau 5.56 – When sights & iron sights determine the meta
Why can the weapon keep up? Ah yes, the Grau. This assault rifle was the first weapon in the still young Warzone that had a long meta phase in the summer after its release. Everyone played it.
And, what can be said – the Grau can still do it. The clean metal sight saves you an attachment slot that is often used with the perk “Fully Loaded”.
Moreover, the weapon is very stable and, due to its relatively low fire rate and the 60-round magazines, provides a long sustained fire. Even in terms of damage, the Grau is currently doing quite well again. However, as a weapon from CoD MW, there are better options in terms of movement among the “Cold War” weapons.

AK-47 (CW) – Still hits like a truck
Why can the weapon keep up? The LMG Bren is currently so popular because it is very easy to play and deals a lot of damage. The only disadvantage is the poor movement of the LMG.
You can get the damage of the Bren with the AK-47 from Cold War – however, without the mobility drawbacks. True, the AK is a bit harder to handle, but it still packs a punch.

XM4 – Sometimes you don’t need recoil
Why can the weapon keep up? The XM4 is somewhat of an AK-47 light. This assault rifle delivers less damage than its Russian counterpart, but it plays very easily.
The recoil is negligible, making the XM4 a stable alternative that can compete at the very top.

OTs 9 – Faster than the competition
Why can the weapon keep up? The OTs 9 and the MAC-10 have been the most popular submachine guns from Cold War for a long time. And since the weapons from CoD 2020 are considered particularly mobile, they can still deliver today.
The OTs 9 does not offer the versatility of a MAC-10 or Welgun, which can also be helpful as sniper support. The OTs is a purebred SMG for the shortest distances, with high damage and mobility – even in the Vanguard era.

Bren and MP40 are not easily dethroned – but their players are not unbeatable. Even the classics still hit hard and are not impressed by the 10 attachments of the new weapons.
