Iridikron
Iridikron is one of the great primordial incarnations. Together with his siblings Vyranoth, Fyrakk, and Raszageth, he belongs to the largest proto-dragons that have ever existed on Azeroth. Unlike the aspects of the known dragonflights, the incarnations resisted the gift of the Titans and did not want to be altered by their order magic.
This ultimately culminated in a conflict that ended with Iridikron and his siblings being imprisoned – a common practice of the Titans and their servants. Everything that cannot be controlled or killed is imprisoned and sealed.
But Iridikron was freed by his sister Raszageth. Even though Raszageth and Fyrakk are dead and his sister Vyranoth has switched over to the aspects, Iridikron is still at large. He is not only the most powerful primordial incarnation but also the smartest.
We last saw Iridikron in Dragonflight. There he ensured that Xal’atath got possession of the Heart of Darkness, which ultimately led to all the conflicts we experience in The War Within and Midnight.
Whether his pact with Xal’atath goes beyond the Heart of Darkness remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that Iridikron will reappear – when the Titans return to Azeroth. The dragon has already boldly announced that.
Thus, it is very likely that we will see Iridikron throughout the expansion “The Last Titan” and will have to defeat him in one way or another.
It’s actually a pity because Iridikron is – unlike humans or dwarves – one of the beings that originally come from Azeroth and existed on the world long before the Titans wanted to mold Azeroth into a new form.
But whether Iridikron also sees himself as a protector of Azeroth’s World Soul or if he is only seeking revenge on the Titans for what they have done to all dragons and thus to him remains to be seen. But the answers to that are likely only about 2 years away …
