Aman’Thul
Some may now furrow their brows at this potential enemy. After all, Aman’Thul is a Titan and thus actually on the side of the heroes of Azeroth.
Strictly speaking, Aman’Thul is even the first Titan who ever awakened and then went on to awaken other World Souls and thus found the Pantheon of Titans.
For the inhabitants of Azeroth, the Titans are considered gods that embody good. It is not surprising, as the Titans are responsible for the creation of many species. Dwarves, Gnomes, and Humans directly descend from the creations of the Titans and therefore hold a certain fundamental trust in these beings. After all, this has always been conveyed in the traditions.
The problem: These traditions have been created by the Titans themselves. The Titans have adjusted the history of Azeroth so that there can be no other conclusion than to revere the Titans.
But that is not correct, as we have learned piece by piece throughout the last expansions.
For Titans are beings of order and have a clear goal in mind: the awakening of Azeroth as the mightiest of all Titans.
However, we now know that a sleeping World Soul is originally not a Titan, but is shaped into one by the influence of other Titans. This very future is what Aman’Thul aims for.
But Azeroth itself seems to have no interest in becoming a Titan. There are repeated hints that the World Soul manipulates the inhabitants of Azeroth or gives them back free will to fight against the titanic forces.
For Aman’Thul, we are currently nothing more than amusing pets. Beings that are pleasant to look at as long as they behave nicely and do not stand in the way of his own plans. But as soon as we deviate from Aman’Thul’s plan and try to prevent Azeroth from awakening as a Titan, the true face of the Pantheon will reveal itself, and Aman’Thul may become one of the most powerful adversaries we have ever fought.
