3. Terrifier 2
Terrifier 2 is primarily included on this list because it is a new film in the slasher genre. Not a legacy sequel of an old brand, but a new series with a killer who does not need to hide from iconic villains like Michael or Jason. Art the Clown is not only chillingly well portrayed, but also gruesomely murders his way through the city.
The effects in the film are particularly noteworthy, as director Damien Leone previously worked in special effects, and this is apparent in the film despite the low budget. Only the actors aside from the lead actress and clown Art leave something to be desired.
4. The Sadness
The Sadness is, like Terrifier 2, an extremely explicit film that uses many zombie tropes. The film takes place in Taiwan, while an unknown disease transforms people into a horde full of primal monsters. The imagery is often very shocking and truly not for the faint-hearted.
However, one can find some merit in the film, as it fundamentally deals with the incompetence of a government and the inner rage within a population. It is almost a satirical reflection of a time when many people only thought of themselves.
