1. Evil Dead Rise
This is probably the most well-known film on this list and the latest installment of an old horror series. Evil Dead Rise is the quasi-sequel to the reboot of Evil Dead from 2013. This time, however, evil does not rage in the woods, but in the big city in a high-rise building.
A mother is possessed by evil and tries to kill her sister and her children. True to the Evil Dead franchise, there is a lot of bloodshed, and the classic bitter evil humor of the series cannot be missed. A worthy successor to the bloody series.

A film that is also from this year is Pearl. It is a prequel to the film X
. The film tells the story of Pearl, who simply wants to escape her dreary farm life. But as innocent as Pearl appears, she is not, and her true nature becomes evident as the film progresses.
The film captivates with the atmosphere of old films and reminds through the setting and costume design of The Wizard of Oz. The big highlight is Mia Goth, who fantastically embodies the madness of Pearl as the lead actress.
