What is it about? Childhood friends Kafka and Mina dream of one day landing in the elite unit responsible for fighting monsters. Japan is being plagued by gigantic monsters known as Kaiju. Mina manages to fulfill her dream. Kafka, on the other hand, repeatedly fails the entrance exam of the elite unit and instead becomes a crime scene cleaner.
But one day, a strange parasite flies into Kafka’s mouth. Shortly thereafter, he can transform into a Kaiju himself. This brings him many problems, as he becomes a target for the elite unit. Nevertheless, he is determined to join the team. Season 2 picks up from the end of Season 1 and deals with the Kaiju-Weapon-Arc, in which Kafka is used by the elite unit as a weapon.
Who is it suitable for? In Kaiju No. 8 you can expect plenty of action-packed battles involving giant monsters. Fans of Godzilla will get their money’s worth here.
