Along with Doom, Wolfenstein is one of the milestones in shooter history. The new games also offer action-packed shooter entertainment, and currently, you can buy the 4 latest titles of the franchise on PS4 and PS5 for only €14 on sale.
What kind of games are these? The Wolfenstein series started back in 1981, with Castle Wolfenstein for Apple II, Commodore 64, and other platforms. Eleven years later, in 1992, the first shooter of the series was released, even before the first Doom. In 2014, a modern reboot of the series followed with Wolfenstein: The New Order. By 2019, four parts of the reboot series were released.
Essentially, the 4 modern Wolfenstein games are classic first-person shooters where you fight against the Nazi regime in an alternative timeline. The main character of most of the games is B.J. Blazkowicz. He is an American spy who forms a true one-man army in the style of old action movies.

What makes the series so good? The new Wolfenstein games try to bring the old gameplay of so-called Boomer shooters
into modern times. A major aspect is that you do not heal automatically. You have to collect armor and healing items.
The games are at their best when you confront the enemies head-on like Rambo. You are a playable action hero from the 80s. You have to use the many weapons tactically in combat to deal with the different enemies.
Unlike in the predecessors, the new games also have a greater focus on the various characters, who are not simply exaggerated but also provide emotional moments.
The entire modern series is available in the Alternative World Collection, which includes the following games:
- Wolfenstein: The New Order
- Wolfenstein: Old Blood
- Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
- Wolfenstein: Youngblood
The first 3 games are classic singleplayer games with a linear story. During the story, you can collect hidden collectibles. Youngblood, on the other hand, is a co-op adventure that can be played with two players. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is considered the best part of the series (via Metacritic).
How much does the Wolfenstein: Alternative World Collection cost? In the PSN Store, you can currently get the games for PS4 or PS5 in the Alternative World Collection for €14 instead of €70. You have the base versions of the 4 games included. The DLCs for the 2nd part are not included. The offer is valid until 02.11.2024.
You can currently also get the Season Pass with all DLCs for €10 on sale. If you only want individual games from the series, then all except Youngblood are also on sale for a maximum of €6.
