In Destiny 2, four new trailers have been released showcasing the open world of the EDZ.
The release of Destiny 2 is just around the corner! This afternoon, on September 5 at 4 PM, the servers in Australia will go live. 8 hours later, at midnight, the official release will also take place in Germany.
To get you pumped for Destiny 2, the official PlayStation YouTube channel has now released four new videos about Destiny 2, taking you into the EDZ. The EDZ is the European Dead Zone, an area on Earth where you land after the Cabal attack on the Last City.
A Look at the New Map
In the open worlds of Destiny 2, there is a lot to do. To help you keep track, a overview map has been introduced, which provides significantly more information than the maps in Destiny 1:
The map will display public events, adventures, and other tasks. You can also view milestones – specific quests. For some activities, you can already tell by the symbol what rewards they will drop or when they will start.
An important new feature: You can open the map and directly select a new landing zone to perform a fast travel to it. You do not have to return to orbit first.
Welcome to the EDZ
The EDZ is the largest area in Destiny 2. Here you will find numerous sights as well as activities:
The trailer mentions the open-world activities adventures and public events. We introduce more activities in our PvE guide to Destiny 2. You can also find hidden crates, forgotten lore, and “high-value targets” in the worlds. The NPC Devrim Kay is also waiting for you in the EDZ.
This is Devrim Kay
Devrim Kay is your contact for everything happening in the European Dead Zone. He sells you items and forms his own “faction”. So you can earn reputation and rise in his rank by earning EDZ tokens and bringing them to him. Then you can also earn rewards in the form of gear:
He is described as your guide for the EDZ.
In a Lost Sector
A lost sector is another activity in the open world:
The lost sectors are shown on the map with symbols, but you cannot “mark” them. The map only shows you the approximate location. You have to search the area yourself for the entrance.
Once you find a lost sector, you need to defeat adds and a boss enemy. From this, you will receive a cache code, which allows you to loot the loot in the lost sector.
