We now know the new gameplay features and the release date of FIFA 22. However, whether a demo will be available is still unknown. FIFA 22 should definitely receive a demo. We explain why.
For FIFA players, it has been normal for years to prepare for the latest installment with a demo. But last year was different: EA broke the long-standing demo tradition and did not release a demo for FIFA 21.
Will there be a FIFA 22 demo? As of now (July 21, 2021), nothing is known about a possible demo version of FIFA 22. As soon as EA announces anything, you will find out on MeinMMO.

3 Reasons Why FIFA 22 Needs a Demo Again
In FIFA 22, a lot is set to change gameplay-wise. More than 4,000 new animations, smarter players, better ball physics, and an improved goalkeeper AI are intended to create significantly more realism. However, not all versions will receive the same features.
1. A demo clarifies the differences between versions
With the new features of FIFA 22, there is a problem: the innovations grouped under HyperMotion are only available in the next-gen versions of FIFA 22 (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia). This means that buyers of the last-gen platform versions (PS4, Xbox One, and PC) may experience a significant difference in gameplay.
Last-gen versions forgo these HyperMotion features:
- Machine learning will ensure smoother animations in real-time.
- The new “Tactical AI” promises more intelligence from players in both offense and defense. CPU teammates should be able to make more decisions per second in attack, and the defensive AI should better close gaps and act as a tactical unit.
- “Player Humanization” is meant to enhance animations off the ball and make players who are not currently involved in the game appear more realistic.
- With the “Kinetic Air Battles,” airborne duels should become more realistic, and the animations should be better coordinated.
- “Composed Ball Control” aims to improve ball control, allowing players to receive and dribble the ball more agilely.
For potential buyers, it would be important to know how significant the differences really are. Does the PC version of FIFA 22 play completely differently than the PS5 version? Is it worth going for the stripped-down PC version?
A demo for all platforms could answer these questions.

FIFA 22 talks a lot about HyperMotion, but the best part of the test are the new goalkeepers
2. You can test the new gameplay with a demo
In addition to the differences between FIFA versions, the new gameplay is particularly interesting for FIFA players. And this is best tested with a demo. Typically, a FIFA demo includes a handful of teams that you can face against a friend or the CPU in short matches in kickoff mode.
An ideal way to try out the new gameplay features and learn new tricks. Generally, a demo helps to get an impression of the new feel of the game and can therefore also assist with the purchasing decision.
3. A demo builds anticipation for the final game
Good demos often create significant anticipation for games, which FIFA 22 could strategically leverage. The community’s interest in FIFA demos is high, and many FIFA fans can hardly wait to finally test the new installment themselves, especially without any cost.
A demo would therefore provide EA with a way to generate hype for the new FIFA installment.
When could a demo be released? If a demo does indeed appear this year, it could be released approximately 14 days before the official launch of FIFA 22 (October 1, 2021). This was regularly the case in previous years. A plausible date would therefore be September 17, 2021.
