Super Mario Party
What is Super Mario Party? This is a virtual board game experience where you compete with other players for the best spots in mini-games and on the game board.
What is it about? Join together with characters from the Mario games that you have selected on a virtual board game. In over 80 minigames, you have to prove your skill with the Switch controllers.
The minigames offer a lot of variety. While pedaling on small tricycles, you should move the Joy-Con controllers in a circle – stamina is key if you want to cross the finish line first. Other mini-games require full-body involvement when you have to mimic poses while dancing or march like in a parade.
You don’t have to play against each other necessarily. Cooperative modes like rafting test your teamwork skills. There is also an online mini-game mode.
Release: October 5, 2018
Business Model: Buy-2-Play
Genre: Board game, Party
Comparable to: Mario Party: The Top 100, 1-2 Switch, The Jackbox Party
What’s included? The familiar board game gameplay has been enhanced with elements like dice that can only be used by specific characters. New gameplay methods developed specifically for the use of the Joy-Con controllers can be found in Super Mario Party. The game is played in the classic 4-player format, where players take turns rolling the dice and moving around the board.
