The Devourer Demon Hunter
Even though we haven’t been able to get our hands on the new Demon Hunter specialization yet, the Devourer already looks impressive.
The numerous visually striking Void effects of this Demon Hunter are sure to provide a fantastic gaming experience, which will be drastically different from the other two specializations. After all, the Devourer unleashes blue-black effects of cosmic void energy, which have already attracted attention in boss fights.
Whether the plan works to establish another specialization with “medium range” remains to be seen. But the Warlocks have managed well with balance over time, so we are confident that the Devourer Demon Hunter will have a similar fate.
This also brings a bit more variety. Because another race can become a Demon Hunter in the future: Void Elves. This gives at least the Alliance a bit more choice. This shouldn’t have been particularly labor-intensive for Blizzard, as Blood Elves and Void Elves share the model and most animations. Nevertheless, it’s nice that there’s a bit more choice if you don’t really connect with Night Elves.
And who knows: If more people start playing a Demon Hunter because of the Devourer, that’s also more people who could potentially help as tanks by switching specializations…
