The streamer Jack Doherty crashes his McLaren live on the Kick stream due to his own fault. Instead of helping his friend, he continues to stream and processes the accident as content. This is too much for Kick, and they ban the 20-year-old.
How did the accident happen? Jack Doherty is filmed by his cameraman Michael while driving on the highway in his McLaren. He is looking at his phone the entire time. It seems he is unaware that it is raining and that he is putting himself and his passenger in danger with his high speed.
The car loses traction on the road shortly after he accelerates again and skids from the left lane into the right guardrail. The sports car folds up at the front like a can. Jack Doherty himself does not suffer major injuries, but his friend Michael is bleeding from the head.
Jack Doherty is not the only controversial streamer from the US:
Jack Doherty recklessly handles the consequences of the accident
What happened after the accident? Jack Doherty’s first action after the accident is to pull out his iPhone and continue streaming. He films his friend Michael, who has head injuries, is bleeding, and is presumably in shock.
The Kick streamer then hands him his iPhone and says to him: “Film on the iPhone too.” Then he stands next to his McLaren and has his friend film him as he says: “Oh my God, my car!”
On X there are several clips from the stream showing the accident itself and the events afterward. After a while, Jack Doherty’s friends arrive. He also hands them iPhones so they can film for him.
Eventually, emergency services, the police, and a tow truck arrive. The McLaren is towed while Jack Doherty insists how sad it is that the McLaren broke down just before his 21st birthday.
On his YouTube channel, the streamer then publishes a YouTube video called “we almost died” in which he processes the aftermath of the accident as content. The injuries of his friend are treated in the hospital.
What is the consequence? The streaming platform Kick does not let this recklessness go unpunished and promptly bans the streamer. The reason: endangerment. The ban is permanent.
How does the community react? The community’s empathy is largely limited. Since Jack Doherty has drawn attention in the past with other provocative actions and is therefore not popular, most people ridiculed the events.
The influencer world also addresses critical words to the 20-year-old. “I can’t suppress the urge to make fun of this idiot,” says the streamer and YouTuber penguinz0 in his video on YouTube.
Streamer star xQc says in a livestream: “I don’t think this guy is hated enough”:
Jack Doherty is not the only streamer who livestreams questionable and controversial things on Kick. The content creator MrBasedNYC harassed a woman during his livestream and was banned for it: Due to a stupid bet, an incident occurs in a stream that many viewers find totally disgusting
