Due to the limitation of content, two of the biggest WoW YouTubers are complaining about the Early Access of WoW: The War Within, only to realize shortly afterwards that they themselves are part of the problem.
Who is complaining and why? Those who purchased WoW: The War Within in pre-sale for about 50 to 90 Euros have been able to dive into the new content since August 23, 2024. However, some challenges of the new expansion of World of Warcraft are locked until the official launch on August 27, 2024.
That the locked content also includes the depths from level 4 became clear to the two well-known WoW YouTubers and streamers Asmongold and Esfand only when they had mastered level 3 of the new dungeon content.

How do content creators react to the restriction? When Asmongold realizes that he has to wait until the official launch to tackle level 4 of the depths, he comments on YouTube as follows: “You’re telling me that we paid 40 dollars to not be able to play the game? That’s just dumb, right?”

Esfand takes a pragmatic view: you just don’t want to wait until next week. It’s available, so you play it. By the way, Asmongold’s shadow McConnell was also present. His question to the two streamers: “Don’t you think that your behavior contributes to the questionable practices of the gaming industry?” Esfand’s response: “Sure … but don’t you also own a phone?”
With his counter-question, Esfand refers to the announcement of Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon 2018, where the Blizzard developers were booed and could only help themselves with a helpless question: “Don’t you people have phones?”
