In Pokémon GO, the Corona bonuses have been reactivated. Niantic now offers you more opportunities to play effectively from home. We show you the new features.
This is what happened: Last night, Niantic announced that they are bringing back the Corona bonuses. Just a few weeks ago, they partially disabled the bonuses – now they are largely back.
This is intended to make playing from home easier, so that you don’t have to go outside during the Corona pandemic just to play Pokémon GO.
All Corona bonuses that are now active
These bonuses are new: Starting from November 20, the following bonuses are again active in Pokémon GO:
- Incense is more effective again – last time it attracted a Pokémon every 30 seconds instead of just once a minute
- Your buddy Pokémon delivers more gifts again – 5 gifts at once and a maximum of 3 times a day
Additionally, various events in the future will bring further Corona bonuses. These include:
- Reduced egg distances
- Increased trade radius
- Boxes for one PokéCoin
How long are the bonuses active? You can benefit from these bonuses at least until June 2021. Niantic wants to give notice one month in advance if they deactivate the bonuses.
What other bonuses are active? Some Corona bonuses have not been switched off yet and have been active since the beginning of the year. These bonuses include:
- The maximum number of gifts has been increased from 10 to 20 per bag
- The first catch of the day yields triple Stardust and triple XP
- Incense lasts for 60 minutes
- The PvP league requires no walked kilometers to unlock battle sets
How much is the game changing? These bonuses, along with other adjustments, have significantly eased playing from home. Remote raids also help with this, as you can comfortably participate in raids from your sofa.
With the improved incense, you can also catch Pokémon from home, and your buddy ensures gifts so that you can gift your friends with Poké Balls.
You can now benefit from these bonuses at least until next summer. This also applies to the upcoming event with Shiny Goldeen:
