Bloom4Eva honors the memory of a deceased friend
What is the story behind the player? Bloom4Eva discovered the competitive scene of Super Smash Bros. in early 2019. In June, the then 13-year-old player finished in 7th place at his first tournament.
In an interview in September 2022, the Smash talent revealed his motivation: on one hand, he plays Super Smash Bros. because he enjoys it, and on the other, to honor a deceased friend. This friend played under the name “Bloom” and aimed to become the best Smash player of all time.
Bloom4Eva’s gamer tag is also a tribute to the deceased friend.
This is how it went for Bloom4Eva: Bloom4Eva achieved his first significant successes in 2021. In April, the young player placed 1st at the Europe Qualifier and subsequently won 4 more tournaments.
2022 also started strong for the player, as he won the English tournament Invasion 2022, followed by several more victories. At Colossel 2022, the largest European Smash tournament to date, Bloom4Eva achieved a strong 4th place, making him the highest-ranked European.
In 2022, Bloom4Eva reached 21st place in the Ultimate world ranking, making him one of the best Europeans. In 2023, Bloom4Eva finished 1st in 6 tournaments, won silver twice, and bronze once. In total, the now 18-year-old player is reported to have earned around $12,800 in prize money.
And currently? In 2024, things have calmed down a bit for Bloom4Eva. Overall, the player participated in fewer tournaments and often placed in the double digits. However, this is not too surprising, as the player stated in an interview in 2022 that he would be attending school 6 days a week and would have less time for e-sports.
Back then, Bloom4Eva could only start gaining momentum because it was summer. The e-sport athlete’s goal is to one day become an author or psychologist to help others, he said in the interview. Perhaps one day, we will see Bloom4Eva not only on the top lists in Smash but also among the bestsellers.
