What is Crimson Desert? It is somewhat unclear whether Crimson Desert will actually be an MMORPG, as the game has now been newly introduced as an action-adventure with an open world. However, it still sounds like an MMORPG. Crimson Desert is developed by Pearl Abyss.
It takes place in the same world as the MMORPG Black Desert, but on a different continent, and the two games are not connected story-wise either. It is said to be a next-generation online role-playing game that offers a lot of possibilities but aims to focus on telling epic stories. PvE and PvP play a role, but PvE is the main focus.
