What do I need to know about the game? “The Matrix Online” was supposed to build on the plot of the first film and continue it. The developers promised a unique class system, where you would upload a selection of skills much like Neo does in the film. The data disks with the skills were produced and sold by the coder class. And of course, the action was supposed to be as stylish as in the film.
However, the MMORPG disappointed right from the start with a massive number of bugs and other technical shortcomings, missing content, and generic missions that repeated constantly. In direct comparison, even the often criticized Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions appeared to be masterpieces. Unfortunately, instead of Matrix feeling, you got only frustration.
