The Coiling Grasp Tattoo
- Brief: The bearer deals force damage and can grapple a target
- Rarity: Rare
- Appearance: Inky tendrils or tentacles that spread when used
The tattoo allows the bearer to grapple someone within a 15-foot radius with tendrils or tentacles growing from the tattoo. The grappled target must succeed on a Strength saving throw of 14 or take 3d6 force damage and be restrained. The target can, however, use an action on its turn to attempt to escape, this time with a Strength or Dexterity saving throw of 14.
The tattoo and its grasping tentacles provide the bearer’s companions with a nice opportunity to strike a motionless target, as long as it cannot escape… or does not want to.
The Lifewell Tattoo
- Brief: Grants resistance to necrotic damage and allows one to cheat death once per day
- Rarity: Very Rare
- Appearance: Designs associated with rebirth and life
In addition to the resistance to necrotic damage, which protects the bearer especially in battles against undead, the tattoo prevents the bearer from going down once per day. Instead of 0 HP, the bearer of the Lifewell Tattoo remains standing with 1 HP – albeit wobbly and somewhat frightened.
This may sound like a simple bonus at first, but this tattoo can be a lifesaver, ensuring that your character can go on more adventures for another day.
The Blood Fury Tattoo
- Brief: Weapon attacks deal necrotic damage
- Rarity: Legendary
- Appearance: wild colors and/or shapes
With the tattoo, one receives 10 charges to use their abilities, which recharge at the start of each day.
When a creature is hit with a weapon attack, one can expend one of these charges to deal an additional 4d6 necrotic damage. Half of this rolled necrotic damage is regained as their own HP.
As an additional bonus, one can choose to expend one charge and their reaction to make an attack against the attacker with advantage.
