The Illuminator Tattoo

The tattoo is ideal for characters who have a penchant for secret messages and communication. With the tattoo, the bearer’s finger becomes a functional writing instrument that can never run out.
A page written upon with the finger can be rendered invisible for a whole day to all but itself and a chosen individual, allowing the message to be read by only two individuals.
The Absorbing Tattoo
- Brief: It provides damage resistance and absorption
- Rarity: Very Rare
- Appearance: Has the same color as the damage it resists
The tattoo grants the bearer resistance to a specific type of magical damage (such as fire, psychic, radiant, or poison), which is determined by rolling or by the DM. Accordingly, the tattoo will possess a fitting color (fire = red, psychic = silver, radiant = gold, etc.).
When hit by the damage type it resists, the bearer can use their reaction to become immune to that type of damage. As a bonus, they then regain half the damage taken as their own HP.
It can be a useful or less useful tattoo depending on the situation, but it can be very powerful against the right opponent.
The Ghost Step Tattoo
- Brief: Assume an incorporeal form for one turn
- Rarity: Very Rare
- Appearance: a blurry tattoo that flickers occasionally
The tattoo grants the bearer three charges that can be used to assume a ghostly form as a bonus action. This ghostly form is resistant to slashing, bludgeoning, and piercing damage and cannot be grappled or restrained.
With the tattoo, one can truly avoid many dangers, free oneself from chains, and even glide through walls. However, one should not assume their physical form in the midst of a wall or a large object, otherwise they would suffer 1d10 force damage.
