By the way, the spell, which belongs to the Transfiguration category, is not that easy. It is only taught in the fifth year at Hogwarts. And of course, Hermione was the only one who could execute it flawlessly after the first lesson. Maybe it would be easier to take out the trash the old-fashioned way.
Moreover, it is not entirely clear whether magically disappeared things are actually permanently gone. Where do they actually go? Do they dissolve into tiny particles and float through the air?
