4. The Demigod and Hero Hercules
Film: Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
What happens in the scene? The fourth Thor film showed us more of the great gods’ world in the Marvel universe. We get to know the god Zeus, who, after the events of the film, is not a big fan of Thor and sends, as learned in the end-credit scene, his son Hercules, played by Brett Goldstein, to deal with Thor.
In the comics, Hercules is not such an unknown character and was even part of the Avengers at one point. Like Thor, he has defended Earth multiple times and even fought against the Hulk without coming off poorly. In the comic version of Civil War, he joined Captain America and fought against a clone of Thor.
Will this scene ever be picked up? Currently, Marvel is in a strange situation. They not only have the multiverse saga; they also introduced gods and other mystical aspects that do not actually fit the multiverse stories. If Thor gets another film, Hercules could indeed play a role.
For the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Chris Hemsworth is even confirmed as Thor, so it could also happen that Hercules appears as a minor role in Doomsday or even Secret Wars. However, there is no concrete indication yet.
