The new FIFA 20 season is in full swing. Meanwhile, some players have emerged that you should definitely try out.
The current best players are: We asked pro Marcel “DonChap” Deutscher about the absolute best players. For the regular ones, the selection is very obvious: “Messi is currently the best of the best,” confirms Deutscher. Behind him come Neymar and Mbappé. The following Icons are also extremely strong:
- Eusebio
- Pelé
- Gullit
- Vieira
However, such players require an extremely high budget. “I’m not even close to that,” says Deutscher. Also, they are hard to get in packs. That’s why you’ll find here some tips on players that are really worth it but are suitable for different budgets.
These players are recommended by the pro
You should try these players: The following list is based on tips from Marcel Deutscher. Here you’ll find players that are cheaper than the absolute top players, but can still strengthen your team.
Tanguy Ndombele
What stands out about Ndombele: Ndombele plays as a Frenchman in the English league, offering good combination opportunities. His overall rating is 81. However, you shouldn’t be deceived by this value: The stats are solid all around. He provides good protection in midfield but can also initiate offensive actions.
What Ndombele costs: Ndombele’s market value currently stands at about 7000 coins. This money is well invested. If you’ve also acquired the OTW variant through objectives, you should try to incorporate Ndombele into your team.
Moussa Sissoko
What stands out about Sissoko: Sissoko plays just like Ndombele at Tottenham, is French, and is at home in the center. Together, both form a strong midfield duo. Sissoko has a high work rate both offensively and defensively: “A very, very good all-rounder,” says Deutscher.
Considering that Sissoko also only has a rating of 81, the card is definitely considered overpowered in the community – and is correspondingly popular.
What Sissoko costs: Sissoko has become one of the community’s favorites. According to futbin-PGP, he has been played the second most of all FIFA 20 players so far. However, this has also made him more expensive: He currently costs around 52,000 coins. This may seem like a lot, but it is also well invested.
Wissam Ben Yedder
What stands out about Ben Yedder: Ben Yedder was already a very popular attacker in FIFA 19. And in FIFA 20, he enhances every attack. His rating is 83, yet for many players, he is among the best that can be played in the early phase of FIFA. He has four-star skill moves and five-star weak foot – abilities that are particularly important this year, according to Deutscher.
What Ben Yedder costs: Ben Yedder is also not cheap at about 31,000 coins. But the striker is worth it if he fits your team. Here, it might also be worth waiting a bit: Ben Yedder previously cost over 60,000 coins. It’s possible that the price will continue to drop.
Clement Lenglet
What stands out about Lenglet: Lenglet from FC Barcelona has received a decent upgrade compared to FIFA 19 and is now among the best center-backs in the game. “I find Lenglet very good. He has very good defensive and passing values,” says Deutscher, reflecting the community’s verdict as well. With Lenglet in central defense, you will definitely be stable.
What Lenglet costs: Unfortunately, Lenglet is a player from the upper price range – partly because it’s now been established that the card is extremely strong. From a price of around 20,000 in the first days, Lenglet has now risen to a market value of over 100,000 coins. Nevertheless, if you can get him, you should seize the opportunity.
Timo Werner
What stands out about Werner: Many players were surprised that Werner received a downgrade compared to his last FIFA 19 card. Nevertheless, with his 83 rating, he is still very strong. Because: “Werner is certainly not bad, as he has good pace this year,” says Deutscher. Anyone who can incorporate Werner into their Bundesliga team should definitely do so.
What Werner costs: Werner’s market value currently fluctuates between 40,000 and 50,000 coins. For this amount of coins, however, you get an absolutely reliable attacker – especially if you’re playing a Bundesliga team. For comparison: Lewandowski currently costs at least twice as much.
Éder Militao
What stands out about Militao: The center-back has an overall rating of 81. However, you shouldn’t be deceived by this: He has developed into a favorite in the community and currently ranks third among the most played players. He has good defensive stats and a high work rate. He is also a popular card among professionals.
What Militao costs: Militao can currently be obtained for about 20,000 coins. This may seem intimidating given the 81 rating at first, but at this point in the game, it’s completely reasonable. The price-performance ratio for Militao is currently extremely good.
Ferland Mendy
What stands out about Mendy: Ferland Mendy is one of those players who have quickly become known for being extremely strong – despite his 80 rating. Accordingly, he was hard to find on the market for a while until his maximum price was raised. He has very good pace, a high work rate offensively, and four-star skill moves. With Mendy on the left side, you can create a lot of danger.
What Mendy costs: Players currently need to pay around 47,000 coins for Mendy, which is extremely high for an 80-rated player. Nevertheless, this money is also very well invested – especially if you’re building a LaLiga team.

Three tips from the community
These cards are also worth it: Considering which players have been played the most, some cards stand out. We’re showing you three tips from the community.
Ousmane Dembélé
What stands out about Dembélé: Ousmane Dembélé is currently the most used player in FIFA 20, according to PGP. He has a rating of 84, very high pace, and five-star skill moves and weak foot. Dembélé is an absolute versatile weapon in offense.
What Dembélé costs: Dembélé is also not cheap. His price currently stands at about 77,000 coins. Whether it will drop in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
Jérôme Roussillon
What stands out about Roussillon: With Roussillon, you get an extremely strong left-back in the Bundesliga. His pace is very high, and his attacking rate is equally so. In the community, he is currently regarded as the best choice for the Bundesliga.
What Roussillon costs: Roussillon’s price is currently dropping, which of course improves his price-performance ratio. Currently, you can get him for about 17,500 coins.
Allan
What stands out about Allan: Allan has developed into an absolute favorite of the FIFA community in Serie A over the past two years. And again this year, he is extremely strong. He is the perfect cleanup man in midfield and a very good choice if you’re playing a Serie A team.
What Allan costs: Allan has also skyrocketed in price and is currently at 68,000 coins. Initially, Allan was cheaper, but also a bit underestimated. He has now established himself – and will do so in your team if you bring him in.
