Necromorphs from Dead Space
The Necromorphs from Dead Space bear great similarities to the concept of a zombie, but they have their own uncomfortable twist. They are not just resurrected the dead but have unique behaviors, appearances, and challenges that seem to try to outdo each other in their grotesqueness.
Through a signal, a corpse is brought back to life, but not as its original body. Instead, the body serves as a base for a completely new creation that expresses itself differently according to its function.
Their bones break, regenerate into a new form. New limbs spring from the body, becoming sharp weapons. New possibilities grow everywhere to terrorize, hunt, and kill the player in the worst ways – and that is its only goal. Especially the first Dead Space was pure terror because of the Necromorphs.
