Dead Hands from Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Under the village of Kakariko in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, there is the floor of a well that resembles a real torture chamber. As if that weren’t uncomfortable enough, the presumably scariest creature of the game is waiting there, which can really scare you at the first encounter – the Dead Hand.
This monster wants to literally hold Link in the depths of the well and uses its uncomfortably long arms, which sprout from the ground, to grab and devour him. It moves slowly but somehow in a unexplainably creepy way. To all players out there who experienced this encounter far too young and are still traumatized … I’m sorry.
