Adam Warlock
- Defeated Thanos in Marvel Two-In-One Annual No. 2 (1976)
Since the 3rd part of Guardians of the Galaxy, film fans also know the character Adam Warlock, who has often played a central role in the comics when it comes to defeating Thanos. Even in the 1970s, the hero showed that he could handle the villain.
In a comic special with Spider-Man and the Thing, they both fight against the villain in space and even get help from other heroes. Suddenly, Adam Warlock, who should actually be dead, emerges from the Soul Stone.
There is a bright flash, and Thanos suddenly only appears as a figure made of granite. Adam Warlock himself explains that he now has to spend eternity (not as long as you might think) in a form of his own corruption
. In the last panel, you see the stone statue shedding a tear.
