As you can see, the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy are quite good at taking Thanos down. Even the well-known leader of the group was able to defeat and stop the Titan, albeit only for a short time.
During one of the many battles with Thanos, Peter Quill and the hero Nova confront the villain. Thanos is speaking with Lady Death when the two consider how to defeat him.
Thanos awakens from his vision, focuses on Peter Quill, and threatens to destroy the entire universe. He runs towards them, and together with a massive explosion and the Cosmic Cube (Tesseract), the three figures vanish. At the end of the volume, you still see a statue in honor of the two.
