- Defeated Thanos in Infinity Gauntlet No. 5 (1991)
One of the most important events involving Thanos is the comic storyline The Infinity Gauntlet. This storyline also inspired the last two Avengers films. Thanos manages to collect all 6 Infinity Stones, becoming one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Adam Warlock, who is quite a silly character in the MCU, attacks the Titan along with other heroes.
Thanos seems unbeatable. However, when he leaves his body as a cosmic being, the nearly destroyed Nebula manages to steal the Gauntlet from him. She vows revenge and sends him into the depths of space.
But Nebula was even more dangerous than Thanos, as a normal mind struggles to hold the power and knowledge of the Infinity Gauntlet. He reluctantly teams up with the heroes to defeat Nebula.
