As various Mario characters from Nintendo or Sonic from Sega have shown for decades, charismatic or cool characters are very important for games. A more inconspicuous but still charming hero from the PlayStation universe is Sackboy, who became known through the LittleBigPlanet series and celebrated a strong PS5 debut with Sackboy: A Big Adventure almost 5 years ago.
Admittedly, Sackboy has never controlled as perfectly and smoothly as Mario or Astro Bot. However, when it comes to creativity in the levels, the charming sack of two legs does not have to hide behind the best of the jump’n’run genre.
The perspectives, gadgets, and types of obstacles frequently change. Moreover, there are many hidden secrets and objects to find, allowing us to replay almost all levels of Sackboy: A Big Adventure in a duo multiple times.
But be careful if you are with little rascals or let a sibling duo handle the controllers: In Sackboy: A Big Adventure there are several ways to troll your co-op partner. This can sometimes lead to emotions running high. However, that hasn’t deterred us from playing the game with both kids.
