My great love for games was sparked many, many years ago by a certain Super Mario Bros. on the good old NES. Accordingly, I have been connected to the plumber for all these years. The best Mario of the past decade, in my opinion, is Super Mario Bros. Wonder from 2023.
Yes, it is just a 2D title. However, it makes up for that with its fun jumping dynamics, creative wonder flowers, and varied levels. Additionally, it includes the precise controls familiar from Nintendo and many options for customizing the player experience, such as difficulty settings.
Unlike many other co-op platformers, the collaboration in Wonder is wonderfully frustration-free. This is a great game for young and old, for beginners and pros. Be sure to try it out if you have a Switch at home! By the way, the first one is sufficient; you do not need the expensive successor: The Nintendo Switch 2 has lost me, and I have been a Nintendo fan for 38 years
