Yes, even the Dark Knight has clashed with his colleague Superman at various points in comic history. In the movie, there is a confrontation in Batman V Superman. However, one of the most impressive battles takes place in “The Dark Knight Returns” by Frank Miller.
In it, Batman faces off against Superman, who has been sent by the government to take out the bat. However, Batman is very well prepared and fires a whole arsenal of tricks at Superman. He protects himself with a heavy armor, but even that does not stop Superman from dealing serious blows to Batman.
Eventually, it looks as though Gotham’s hero will lose the fight. Then Batman pulls out his nastiest trick. The former hero Green Arrow has only been waiting for the signal and fires a kryptonite arrow at Superman – that mineral, which is the hero’s greatest weakness. This forces Batman’s opponent to his knees and he wins the fight. However, at a high price: he suffers a heart attack.
